The Bushfires

Many of you have shown concern about the Australian Bushfires destroying our beautiful country right now. To answer the most common question I have been asked, No I am not near the bushfires, I am on the other side of Australia but they are still affecting everybody.
Above is a photo of a koala who was rescued by an emergency hooman.

These two girls are sisters. They died trying to save their horses. Their names were Penny and Melanie. You can read about them here.

This is Chaz and his Mum. His hooman family had to flee the fires so suddenly they couldn't take him. A friend of his hoomans found him 2 days later on the front lawn of the family home guarding everything they left behind. You can read about his reunion with his hoomans here.

This lady lost her home and all her belongings. She saved her furry friends. Her horses were left behind. She does not know if they survived.

This little guy was saved from the fires.

It was so hot that rims were melting off car tyres.

Dogs Victoria are accepting donations to help dogs and their hoomans affected by the bushfires.

We're relieved you and some people and furry creatures are okay, but are worried about the rest of the people and animals in Victoria. It's really a horrible, horrible event - we have dreadful fires in California sometimes and the smoke lingers and lingers even if a fire is far away. Thank you for posting links where we can help. Hugs to you and we're thinking about our friends in SE Australia lots.
Love xo

I came here after reading Khyra's post, and I am so sorry for all the poor animals and people involved in this terrible tragedy.

My heart and prayers goes out to them all.

The pictures look awful, and the story about Chaz is just amazing.

Hi Mates
I'm late checking on you .. really like your post. As you know we have horse family and wildlife family and mum is part of a horse and wildlife 'connection' for the terrible bushfires in Victoria. We have heard of several hoomans who have lost their lives trying to save their animal family.
Take good care of yourselves
