HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Hello furry friends! Did you miss me? I have been furry busy helping Mummy with lots of diffurent things... There are going to be some changes around here in the next few weeks so if you do not hear from me, please do not be offended, I will fill you all in when evfurry thing is sorted out.
Mummy STILL hasn't done our Xmas cards but she will be doing them today so they may be a little late arriving fur some of you but THEY ARE ON THEIR WAY.
Now, most importantly, today is my 9th Birthday! Yes, that's right, I am 9! I look a lot younger don't I? That's how I managed to score the incredibly cute, fluffy and young Checkers. We are still engaged but the wedding is currently on hold due to our busy home lives.
Well furry friends, I have some celebrating to do so I will bark to you all soon.

Hello furry friends, just a quick post to let you know that we are alive and well... all except fur Mummy. She is not so well. Her back has been sore again and she had to go fur a MRI the other day and her results were not good. She has been refurred to a neurosurgeon fur further investigations. She has some degenerated discs and a bulging one and a couple of other problems too :( So I hope you furgive me fur not being around much lately. I will try to catch up on all your blogs soon. We also want to send special loving to our partners Checkers, Rambo & Lady... We love you all!

In honour of Australian Idol starting again for 2009, Mummy and I decided to post 2 links fur our most favourite idol contestants of all time!
The first is a man named Bobby Flynn singing the classic Queen track Under Pressure. Now, Mummy believes that NO ONE should sing Freddie's songs but Freddie but she makes an exception fur Bobby Flynn because HE IS FREAKIN' AWESOME!

The second video is a girl named Lisa Mitchell. She was just 16 when she appeared on Australian idol. This is her latest song.

Our holiday Part 3 - Days 4-5

Day 4 - Rise and Shine! Breakfast is on the table

ROAD TRIP!

To Mummy's favourite winery

After the road trip we went back to the cottage and looked fur the "secret panel" that the previous guests had commented on in the guest book.

Lots of hoomans had signed inside the wall...

It was stuffed full of goodies
Pasta shells, pasta sauce, a beer and a tin of baked beans

Then it was our turn to fill the wall fur the next guests to find
We left some marshmallows, some popcorn, a diet coke, a beer and a tennis ball fur the next puppies

We put our photo in there too so they could see what we looked like

Mummy signed the guest book and left a photo of us at the cottage

The next morning it was time to leave and I didn't want to get in the car, so I staged a protest and sat in the middle of the paddock refusing to move, I liked it there... Can you see me?

Our holiday Part 1 - Days 1-2

Hello furry friends! I am back and here to give you a guided tour of my trip to Margaret River.
Here I am after I have packed my suitcase...

Roadtrip!

Our first stop to umm, take care of business...
It was a 3 and a half hour drive! A girl can't cross her legs that whole time....

Finally we arrive at our cottage, isn't it cute?

Firstly, and most importantly, I had Mummy put up our photos :)

Then Daddy and Scooby took a small break after the long drive while I checked out our living arrangements, where is Tahlia?

Catching some rays outside, I should have known...

Time to explore the property a bit...

Plenty of room fur us to run around...

Time fur Daddy to start the fire, he will need my help of course....

Success! I will just keep an eye on it though....

Suzuki, Tahlia & Scooby leave fur Margaret River tomorrow and will probably be out of contact fur a week but they promise to catch up on all your blogs when they return.

I'm going on a holiday!

That's right! Mum & Dad are taking us on a holiday. We are going to a place called Margaret River and they have really big waves there and Daddy said he is going to take me boogey boarding. I'm furry excited. We are going to be staying in a stone cottage which has an enclosed patio fur us to play in if Mum & Dad go out to some of the local wineries. And we are allowed to sleep inside there too. It's furry hard to find accommodation fur us where we are allowed inside but Mum brought a book called Holidaying with Dogs and it lists lots of places that allow pets. That's how they found this place. It's about 3 and a half hours away from where we live. We will be leaving next Monday and coming back on the Friday. I'm going to start packing tomorrow BOL.

I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately but Mummy has been furry busy and hasn't been able to help me blog. I am currently trying to catch up on evfurry pups blog but it may take me a while. If there is anything I have missed that you think I absolutely MUST know, please feel free to leave me a comment about it. My wedding dress has arrived and I am looking forward to my big day. Checkers and I have not set a date yet but we will let you all know as soon as we do. Scooby asked me to thank you all fur your good wishes and fur attending his wedding to the love of his life Lady. He also sends a special thanks out to Rambo and Midget fur the wedding gift (the greeedy customs beagles got to it first though). Mummy's home and she spoke to HIM

Well, Mummy and Daddy are home again and Mummy spoke to HIM. HE is going to change my life, I can tell. Things have already started changing around here. Mummy said I'm going to be a happier dog fur it, but I'm not so sure...

Mummy apologizes fur the photos being blurry but they are off her camera phone and she was not allowed because there was no flash photography allowed.
This is the vet asking HIM some common questions.

The seminar went fur 2 hours and then people with VIP or Gold class tickets stayed back so Cesar could answer some more questions that he picked out.

Mummy and Daddy (and 700 other hoomans) were given question cards to write on when they got there and they had to hand them in so Cesar and his assistants could go through them all and choose 5 questions he thought were most important to answer.

Daddy asked about Scooby being an nasty pup these days and Mummy, as you know, was asking about me and Tahlia and our "fights" and the best way to separate us etc.
Well a lot of people who paid a lot of money were slightly annoyed that only 5 people were going to actually have the chance to speak to HIM...
But not Mummy and Daddy because Cesar chose to speak to Mummy!
When they called out Mummy's name, she said a swear BOL

Then she got given a microphone and got to ask Cesar about us.
I feel furry flattered because he said he wished he could come home with Mummy to meet me and Tahlia because it was a furry "hands on" question that she wanted answered and he wanted to be able to physically show her how to handle us. But due to his scheduling he couldn't :( (That would have made a pawsome post fur you all BOL)
He basically told Mummy not to panic and to stay calm as we can pick up on her energy. Well duh Mummy, I could have told you that! He had also covered a lot of things early in the night that would help to make us calmer dogs. So Mummy has been trying these things since she got home. Tahlia is already a different dog. She has already learned not to push/run in front of Mummy. She stands at the back or at the side. She has high hopes fur Scooby too. Me on the other hand... I pose a problem. You see, I do not believe I am a dog or that I should have to give up my position as head of this household. It will fall apart without my leadership. I have ruled this roost fur 8 years and I am NOT about to give up that position so easily. Mummy thinks she knows better, but we will have to wait and see.
Mummy has to go to work soon but she said I could share one more thing before I have to go...
Cesar showed a pie graph of what us pups need to makes us happier dogs.

Mummy and Daddy also got a gift bag each.

We are only allowed to have these things when we start making progress.

What will the Dog Whisperer tell my Mummy?

Cesar Milan aka the Dog Whisperer is in Perth tomorrow and my Mummy and Daddy are going to his seminar. Mummy said she is paying a lot of money to learn how to sort us fur kids out so we had better behave! I don't know what she means? All sisters fight and try to tear each others faces off don't they? We don't do it furry often, but when we do, it really is a spectacular sight. No pup or hooman can separate us. I even got stitches after the last fight when Tahlia tore open the back of my leg! I was on complete bed rest and Mummy and Daddy had to carry me evfurry where.

They are going to ask about Scooby too. Mummy said that if any hooman will know how to fix us it will be Cesar Milan. She is going to take her camera because they are in the 2nd row. She said she hopes she is allowed to take photos to show you all.

Five Fur Friday #1 Comeback Interview LORENZA

Bark Kent: Hi Lorenza. Thanks fur coming back to answer the questions the Readers want to know!

Lorenza: Thanks Bark. It is a honor to have been chosen by our friends for this interview.

Bark Kent: They have all been snapping at my ankles eager to get started, so let's get straight into it...

Tessa: How many dresses do you have in your wardrobe?

Lorenza: Hi, Tessa. I have 92 summer dresses and 10 winter coats.

Khyra: I would like to ask which is your favourite dress?

Lorenza: Hi, Khyra! I like all my dresses but these two are my very favorites.

The first one is special because my grandma embroidered it with ribbon. The second, is one of the last made by my grandma and I like its big bow and the colors.

Agatha & Archie: Yes, we had the same questions for the cutest best dressed girl in Mexico. We (and PL2) wanted to know exactly how many dresses you have and which one is your favorite.

Lorenza: Hi, Agatha and Archie… and PL2! My answer is above and I have to add that all my dresses are made by my grandma but I have another special one that was sent to me by Suzuki and I like it a lot too!

Dave (Army of Four): Woo, Lorenza. It's me - Dave, Guide Dog for the Color Blind. As you know, I really admire your colorful dresses. My question is - Do you prefer one color over the others?

Lorenza: Hi, Dave! I don’t have a favorite color but if you see my dresses many of them are pink. My grandma buys fabric in soft colors and my mom likes dark colors.

Chef: What size dress do you take because I want to send you one. My Mama saw the most gorgeous dresses in the pet store and she thought of you.

Lorenza: Hi, Chef! OMD! That would be pawesome! My size is Medium. Thanks a lot!

Mason Dixie: Can we see a picture of all your dresses laid out like a rainbow?

Lorenza: Hi, Mason Dixie! I did not have enough space to laid out all of them but I took this picture of many of them!

Abby: Besides taking baths, what is your favorite thing to do?

Lorenza: Hi, Abby! In order of importance… Sleep, eat and go out for walkies.

Mango: I would like to know what you think is the biggest difference between living in Mexico and living in the US for a doggie. OK, I would also like to know what Mexico is like. It looks hot.

Lorenza: Hi, Mango! Living in Mexico is very hard for animals. There are just a few laws to protect us but nobody cares about them. Nobody respects them. Any dog or cat can be abused and the “human” who does this is not punished. Many people say they love their pets but they are not considered part of the family. All the dogs I know stay all the time outside in their yards or patios. Their humans give them food and water… but nothing else. Due to this, there are no pet stores here. People prefer to spend their money in human things. But… I am a lucky dog! I have the best family. My grandparents take care of me while my mom is at work and they play with me all day. They talk to me in a very sweet way. When my mom comes home, I go out for walkies. She plays with me too. I sleep on the big bed (the one my mom thinks is hers). I have my own mini pool. The one thing is different than many of you is that I have to go to the Vet more often than you. Here there are lots of stray dogs and cats and that causes illness so I have to get my vaccines every 6 months. Besides the vaccines, I go there to get my nails cut and my butt squeezed every month. My Vet says I am his favorite patient. I never miss and appointment and my mom is always pendent of them.
The weather. Here in Torreon is hot… very hot from March to October. Summer is like hell. Normally 100 – 110 degrees! November to February are the best months of the year. Very nice weather. Not very cold. Never snows.

Joey & Zeke: What does the mean mailman do that is mean?

Lorenza: Hi, Joey and Zeke! Ok. The mailman is a nice man. When he comes to my house I like to greet him with furious tail wags. Problem is… he takes a lot of time to deliver my things. For example. The first year of the Christmas Card Exchange I got several cards in May and June! And, sometimes, if you send me something by mail I can get it two or three months later. This year, he has been behaving better but now I am used to call him “My mean mailman”!

Some of the other guesses were about Scooby, yes he is doing better. Mummy has been giving him massages. He is still doing naughty things but his is not as aggressive now.

A couple of pups also guessed that Scruff may be on his way home.
Using his coyote contacts, Zim managed to track down which pack Scruff was travelling with and asked them to send him home. He should be arriving in the next day or so. He is OK.

Speaking of Zim, his guess was about Bark Kent maybe telling me a secret about him.
She has, but it was not the reason I was smiling :)
A little hint fur you Zim, Bark has confirmed that she will be attending the wedding solo, HOWEVFUR, there is 1 pup she has taken a keen interest in and if he were to ask her to be his date, I know fur a fact she would accept.

The problem with Scooby...

As most of you know, Scooby was having some "male" issues recently and Mummy and Daddy had to take him to get his new-ters so he would get better.
The problem stopped but Scooby's personality has changed.
He is much more aggressive now. He tried to bite Mummy the other day and he attacked me today too. I am OK, I was just shocked.
He has also started taking things that don't belong to him... food off of tables etc and he would nevfur have done that before.

Mummy wanted me to ask my friends to ask their Mums and Dads if anything like this has evfur happened to any of their dogs after they got new-ters.
Scooby is older (6 years) and because Tahlia and myself have both already been "fixed" and Scooby nevfur had any personality issues, Mummy was not going to bother getting him new-ters and if it hadn't been fur his medical issues she would not have had it done.
Mummy is worried because her and Daddy have both said that if Scooby hurts me and Tahlia or one of them he will need to find a new home.
Can anyone offur any advise?

Easy like Sunday morning

Tahlia & I love Sunday mornings because it means Mum AND Dad are home all day with us.
This morning when Mum woke up, she put Beverley Hills Chihuahua on the DVD player fur Daddy to watch. He will nevfur admit it, but, he liked it :)
We watched it with her a few weeks ago. Tahlia was upset afterwards because it made her think of Rambo and she misses him.

On a happier note, our cousin Scruff has been spotted at a coyote feeding station.
Khyra suggested that maybe Zim could help us get him back since he speaks coyote.
Hopefully he says yes... I'm sure Bark Kent will be grateful, she is furry fond of Scruff :)

Bark Kent: Welcome to another edition of Five Fur Friday! This week I take on a record of 4 pups at once. They are four of the hottest looking sibes around, the Army of Four! Thank you fur taking the time to bark with me today, I'm sure a lot of pups out there are looking forward to learning more about you.

Storm: Thank YOU for having us, Bark. This is quite an honor!

Zim: Yeah, Bark, this is really great!

Dave: Woo. That badge for our blog is really cool, too. Very colorful.

Ammy: This is really, really sweet, Bark and thank you for doing it and thank you to the readers for voting for us!

Bark Kent: Zim, I have noticed that you have an amazing zen-like ability to make any animal trust you. Is this something you can teach other pups out there or was it something you were born with?

Zim: Well, Bark.... have I told you how gorgeous you are, by the way? It's really a bit of both. Part of it, I was just born with. And the other part, I sort of developed. You see, I spent the first year and a half of my life tied to a tree - no interaction with anyone. I learned to talk by listening to the coyotes at night, in fact - until Storm taught me the ways of the Siberian. But I learned that if I could lure kit-cats, bunnies and other animals over to me, let them know they can trust me, I'd have someone to hang out with. And they'd have someone, too. It's mutually beneficial! There's a great book a biped wrote called "On Talking Terms With Dogs: Calming Signals", by Turid Rugass. (That's a hyperlink to a post we did about the book.) It discusses some of the things I do there - and how you can emulate the behaviors.

Bark Kent: Thank you Zim :) Dave, I understand you are Guide Dog fur the colour blind, can you tell us what that involves?

Dave: Woo, Bark. Yep. Our mom is clinically color-blind. Color Blind females are only 0.4 to 0.5% of the population! When I was adopted, she noticed that I have great sense of color - I think my first task was choosing the tiles and grout for our Library/Media Room and Gallery. I got to go to the flooring store with Mom because we were on our way somewhere else. All of the tiles looked the same to Mom, but I kept keying on one of them - so Mom picked that one. The lady at the store was very impressed with me and said my choice would go great with the carpet and wood trim. Woo. Mom told her right then that I am her Guide Dog for the Color Blind! I also chose the brick pavers for the path that winds around our yard, but my main thrust is working in Mom's Studio. She is a handbag designer and a quilter. Sometimes I'll lead her to great fabrics, other times I'll approve her selections. But often, I have to disapprove of the color combos she comes up with - and I let her know about it, loud and clear! Bark Kent: My Mum, I mean, Suzuki's Mum is colour blind too! She is the red/green colour blind. Storm, who was the first member of the Army of Four to find their furever home there?

Storm: That's me, Bark! I was adopted back in '97, when I was about a year and a half old! It was just me and Great brother Booter back then. He was an Aussie/Lab mix who had been raised by Mom and Dad's first Sibes, Jesse and Lucky. Mom said once I learned how to share and how to trust (I had a few... issues), she'd let me have a puppy of my own - because I LOVE puppies! A couple years later, she and Dad brought Ammy home to us!

Bark Kent: Ammy, who was the first pup to bark on your blog and do you still bark with them today?

Ammy: The VERY handsome Tubey was the first pup to comment on our blog, and I'm happy to say we're still in contact with him! His blog and Meeshka's blog were our inspirations! Can you believe we've made over 980 posts now!?!?

Bark Kent: 980? That's amazing! Finally, your Mum is going to take you on a weekend adventure but you can only choose one of the others to go with you, who do you choose and why?

Storm: Well, this is a hard call. As Sibes, we like to stick together! We're a tight pack and are happiest when we're all present and accounted for. Mom would have to take all of us, and Dad, too. I'd order her to - and I'd help her find a way to do just that!

Zim: Oh, wow, Bark! What a hard question! I agree with Storm that we'd rather all be together. If I absolutely HAD to choose, though... I'd probably take ... Dave. No wait! Stormy! No... I think Ammy! I've gotta go take a nap and think about this, OK?

Dave: Woo. Can it be just me and Mom? Ha woo. Just kidding. Ditto what Storm and my kid brother said. But if I HAD to choose.... I'd choose Zim. He's the best kid brother a guy could ask for.

Ammy: Will there be combs and brushes involved? Because if there are, I'd rather stay here. If not... well, truth be told, Zim is the favorite playmate for each of us. But if we break routine, I get really upset and get an upset tummy... and so I'd really rather we all go or we all stay home. We're just a very, very happy pack when we're together!!!

Bark Kent: Thanks again fur barking with me today, it's been pawsome meeting you all.

Storm: It's been an honor, Bark! We love this feature on your blog and always look forward to reading it! We never thought we'd be interviewed!

Hello furry friends. I am furry busy tending to my Mummy's birthday needs. That's right! It's Mummy's Birthday today. She is 31! Mummy had to go to work today, she doesn't normally work on her birthday because evfurry-one at Mummy's work knows Mummy has been married fur 9 years and when they ask how old she is, the furry next question out of their unthoughtful mouths is usually when are you going to have children? This upsets Mummy furry much. She has us fur kids and we do a pawsome job as "replacement kids". They don't know Mummy's "problems" and should think before they speak. I know have a lot of work ahead this evening making Mummy smile again. But I can do it.

Five Fur Friday #10 DAKOTA, PHANTOM & THUNDER Readers Choice

Bark Kent: Hello loyal readers and welcome to the 10th Five Fur Friday Interview or should I say Interwoo. This week you voted fur none other than Dakota, Phantom & Thunder and here they are... Welcome guys! Thank you fur taking the time to bark with me today.

Dakota: Hi Bark Kent. And welcome to the heartland of America. We hope you enjoy your visit to Overland Park, Kansas. We are quite excited to meet the famous Bark Kent.

Phantom: Yes, we can't wait to get this interview underway.

Thunder: Hey, don't forget about me. I may be the youngest but I always have lots to say.

Bark Kent: Well let's get started then! Who is "the leader of the pack?"

Thunder: Well, to be completely honest, we all know that the real leader here is the Mom - after all she controls everything - our food, treats, walkies, new toys, the password to the laptop...

Phantom: Excuse me, TD. Bark Kent means the leader of the pack. You know, the fur pack.

Thunder: Oh, sorry about that. Well, Bark Kent, since I am the biggest and the strongest and the best-looking pup here, you might think it is ME. But no, I know my place in this pack. The princess Dakota is our true pack leader. She IS the oldest and she IS a woman - so you know how that goes. Both Phantom and I have total respect for her. She gets to go out the door first, she gets treats first, she gets her food bowl first, you know how that goes. And then Phantom is #2. He isn't very pushy but he does let me know that I am the baby here.

Bark Kent: Who was the first pup to bark on your blog and do you still bark with them today?
Phantom: That is the easiest question to answer. We would not have a blog if it weren't for the pestering, I mean strong urging, from Miss Fluffy Tail herself, Khyra, and her secretary. So once we did get out blog going on July 4, 2008, it was only appropriate that Khyra be the first to woof her wise words. And yes, we all still woo together every day. Khyra hasn't let out her woo yet but she does bark to us a lot.

Bark Kent: I understand that you were diagnosed with Cushing's Disease a year ago. Firstly, is this something you are comfortable barking about and if so, would you like to explain to our readers, how this affects you?

Dakota: It has actually been almost two years since the vets told my mom that I was a sick pup. They said I only had about a year to live IF the meds they had worked. Well, so much for their prediction. I am still here, wagging my tail, perking up my ears for treats, and enjoying all the love and hugs I get from my Mom and Dad. Sadly, the medication for Cushing's didn't work for me. I do have two different pain medications I take every day and they do help keep me comfortable. I have a couple of very bad lumpy things inside my body that are not being very nice to me. I also have very high blood pressure so I usually pace my days - I sleep a lot and you can usually find me stretched out somewhere comfy. My sickness makes me drink a lot of water and you know what means, what goes in must come out. So I do have to make a lot of trips to the grassy domain in my yard. My fur isn't quite as plush as it once was, and my weight keeps dropping - does give me a sexy waistline though. One other thing Cushing's does to me is make me hungry ALL the time. I guess I should consider myself lucky since I can eat and eat and not gain weight - I won't be a contestant on any Biggest Loser shows. All in all, I don't complain too much as long as no one accidentally bumps into me - THAT doesn't feel too good.I do want to take this opportunity to thank all your readers for all the good wishes they send my way. I love all of you very much.

Bark Kent: What's your favourite food or snack?

Dakota: Let's just say that the only things I don't like are bananas and pills.

Phantom: I'm the Picky Guy. I love turkey. I keep trying to get my tongue wrapped around some of Mom's tasty spaghetti WITH the yummy sauce, but she won't let me have it. And most any homemade treats are a big hit.

Thunder: Do rabbits and squirrels count? I keep hearing they are very tasty, but I can't seem to find any. Otherwise, I am a big Happy Hearts cookies fan, and a day with ice cream is just wonderful

Bark Kent: You've won a trip fur two to doggy paradise, who do you take and why?

Dakota: I think I would have to take my Mom because she makes me so happy.

Phantom: Hmmmm, that's a hard one - if I could find that puppy I keep searching for, that is who I would take.

Thunder: Not a doubt in the world - I would take my gorgeous sweetheart Kat - from The Washington Woos.

Bark Kent: Thank you furry much fur barking with me today. It's been a pleasure.

Hello Suzuki's furry friends. Scooby Doo here. Suzuki said I could borrow her blog today fur a furry special post. You all know the love of my life, Lady, from the Four Musketeers. We have been dating fur a little while now, and from the furry first kiss I knew she was "the one".

While I was ill recently, I thought a lot about her and how she cared fur me even when she should have bee celebrating Tahlia's recent Barkday... I made a furry BIG decision...
I barked out a poem of proposal...

I am feeling much better now and the bleeding has stopped since, well, you know...

This week we have another fairly new dog blogger fur me to delve deep into their mind and ask them the questions you didn't even know that you wanted to know the answers to until they were asked.... he's cute, he's fluffy, he hangs around with mega huge celebrities... The one... the only... DIEGO DOG!

Bark Kent: Hi Diego! Thank you fur taking the time to bark with me today.

Diego: Hi Bark. Welcome to my lakefront compound on the shores of Lake Washington. I can't tell you what a pleasure it is to meet you. After being hounded by the press and paparazzi for months, I am glad to finally grant an interview to the only honest reporter on the web. So, let's get to it!

Bark Kent: I like the way you think... So who was the first pup to bark on your blog and do you still bark with them today?

Diego: The first one to bark on my blog was my cousin Winston. He is my main man and handles my East Coast Operations. The first follower on my blog was Mason Dixie. She's my best gal pal to this day.

Bark Kent: Who is the top dog in your house, yourself or Rocky?

Diego: I have to say Rocky is. He's a great brother and has supported me in my career 100%. He doesn't care for publicity and is happy to stay out of the limelight.

Bark Kent: If you were stranded on a desert island, what 3 things would you take with you and why?

Diego: That's a tough one. First would be my favorite book "George Clooney-The Last Great Movie Star". I've learned a lot from George. Second would be one of the fine ladies who blog. Third would be a satellite computer so we could continue to blog to our friends.

Bark Kent: I understand your Mum plays the Native American Flute, do you like to sing along when she is playing?

Diego: Well, to tell the truth I'm getting kind of sick of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Dad, Rocky and I just smile and tell her she is doing good. She really needs lots of practice.

Bark Kent: Finally, are you a single pup, and if you are, if you could have your choice of any of the female pups out there, who would it be and why?

Scooby, A Message fur Rambo & Checkers and an Appeal

Well friends, as Ludo would say, Scooby is going to be getting new-ters on Friday.
He's excited, but we know what new-ters are and he is not gonna be happy!

About 300 stray dogs were rounded up by Pulau Ketam residents and deported to an isolated island to fend for themselves. Over half of them are already dead and the remaining ones may not live long. A rescue mission is being mounted and your help is needed.

Tahlia's Birthday Part 1: The daytime...

Hello Suzuki's furry friends!
Tahlia here, and as you are all aware, yesterday was my 7th birthday. My fluffball cousin Scruff kindly offered to pick up my boy Rambo, Suzuki's boy Checkers and Scooby's love of his life, Lady on Thursday so they could be here on time fur Friday, my birthday.

This is the last time we saw Scooby until Daddy got home... Once his Lady arrived, he rushed off to be with her and she fussed over him non stop! And it was MY BIRTHDAY!

Rambo and Checkers were outside when this package arrived. Look at the name on it! S U Z U K I !!! A package from Checkers. He should have just brought it with him, it would have got here quicker!

Well she just had to rush out to the lounge room and say thank you to him...
After the initial excitement of our beautiful partners arrival, we decided to spend the day doing what we wanted. Scooby was being fussed over by Lady, every time Mummy tried to get a photo, she would tell Mummy to leave him alone and let him rest. So there are no photos of them until later in the evening.

Rambo and I decide we wanted to sleep so Mummy tucked us into her and Daddy's bed while she drove Checkers and Suzuki to the beach so Suzi could teach Checkers how to surf.

Does it look like he is having fun? Suzi said he is a natural!

When Daddy got home, he took Scooby (and Lady) to the Vet and to pick up our dinner. The party really got started when they came back. Stay tuned fur more photos where I get to open some presents from Ludo and Mason Dixie!

Scooby's Vet Outcome: Same vet surgery, different vet... This vet has said that it could be his change in diet that has caused the bleeding, even though Mummy asked the other vet and he said no, it wouldn't be that. He has another course of stronger anti-biotics and he has to wear a cone on his head and if it continues he will have to have an ultrasound next week. The vet believes it is not life threatening.

Bark Kent: Hello loyal readers and welcome to another edition of Five Fur Friday. This week you voted to find out more about Ludo. The interview has been posted a little earlier this week due to the celebrations that are due to be taking place this Friday (Tahlia's Birthday).So without further ado, here he is... Thanks fur joining me today Ludo.

Ludo: It be no problem at all Bark, and may I says, Wow! What an honour to meet you, can I has your autograph please?

Bark Kent: Of course you can. I will organize that shortly fur you. Now, Ludo is an unusual name, why did your Mum choose that particular name fur you?

Ludo: Mum and old Daddy had lots of problems choosing my name. They had lots of different ideas. Mum wanted to call me Ranger, who bees the blue fox cub in the animals of farthing wood books but old Daddy did not like that. So Mum was scanning along her bookshelf and she seed a book she had called 'Ludo and the star horse'. It about a boy called Ludo who lives in another country to me. His horse bees very old and it gets out of it's stables and goes off in a snow storm the boy Ludo goes after it and he finds it has falled down a hole and then gone down a tunnel. Ludo follows and finds himself in a strange land where it be all the different signs of that human zodiac thing. The horse has died and he wants to become a star horse, which be the horses that pull the sun through the sky. Ludo meets a mean old half horse half man who says that Ludo must go with him and guide him in order for him to become a star horse, in the end Ludo realises he has to let the horse go to be in a better place. Even though Ludo be a dog Mum has always loved the book and thought it had a very good message of sticking with our loved pets till the end and guiding and teaching each other on life's journey and the importance of knowing when it time to say goodbye, something that we has beed learning a lot on DWB's lately.
Old Daddy liked it too and so he and Mum went to the nature reserve where we used to live and pretended I beed running around off lead and they practiced calling me all the different names to see which felt best. Ludo won but Mum said a man was walking his dog and looked at them very strange. BOL! Oh, also there a big creature thingy in mum's favourite film labyrinth called Ludo. hehe.

Bark Kent: Furry interesting... (Suzuki's Mum loves that movie too.) Who was the first pup to bark on your blog and do you still bark with them today?

Ludo: Well Bark Kent, the first one to bark on my blog was a rabbit-dog called Carlton Jamal. He a good buddy of mine and was the first one to alert me to the horrors of horspitals. I does not speak with him much anymore but Mum still speaks with his Mum. My first month or so of blogging I did not know that there beed DWB's and I did not get hardly and visitors, till someone Mum knew told her about DWB's. After I joined the first pup's to bark on my blog were Amber-Mae and Addie, I still does bark with both of them but Addie bees one of my favourite friends!

Bark Kent: What is it like living with rabbit-dogs and do you evfur wish you had a pup brother or sister?

Ludo: I liked it better when they was inside the house. When i goes outside I likes to go say hello to them. They can be very annoying! Especially Faline, because I not allowed to chase her and I gets telled off. But I likes them lots and I wished they liked me more. I miss the other 5 I used to live with, especially Rocky who was the friendliest. Here some pictures of me with them.

So yes, I would so very much like a pup brother or sister. I likes to play with Sally when she come because Auntie Penny does not like me much. Mum says when she more settled and we move out again I can has one, but I does not know when that will be.

Bark Kent: I understand that you do agility training, do you plan to use these new skills to have a career in the movies? You certainly have the good looks to appear on the big screen...

Ludo: ooh, I does not know! Mum finds agilities very confusing at the moment BOL! And grandpawents do not have a good garden so I will never get very good. I likes to do my freestyle doggy dancing things and one day Me and Mum would like to compete in that so who knows! Aw, shucks, does you really thinks I could be a star?

Bark Kent: I think you could be a HUGE star Ludo :) And finally, you seem to have two special ladies in your life... Are things serious with either of them?

Ludo: Oh yes, I a very lucky dog isn't I? hehe. I has always beed very drawn to intelligent ladies with luscious black furs. I know Miss Kylie not looking for anything serious, she a bit of a play girl herself, she has two boyfriends and some other admirers too! But I hopes things will get a bit more serious with my gal Morgan. I gonna ask her on another date soon, but she very busy with her new sister right now.

A quick Mummy & Scooby Pupdate

Mummy cannot walk without assistance and even then she nearly falls ofur screaming and crying. She is on 3 different pain meds.
Scooby has started bleeding again. He has a small ulcer where he has been licking himself, so we hope that is what is currently causing the bleeding. The blood is not as "pure" as it was the first day, it is furry diluted. He is still on anti-biotics.
Thank you evfurry pup fur your kind thoughts and prayers (and paw crossing). I have some photos of me looking after Mum, which I will post tomorrow as part of my working for the snuggle puggle post.

Scooby & Mummy Update

Hello furry friends. Scooby started bleeding again yesterday but it seems to have stopped again today. The vet said this may happen and if it continues fur the next few days then Mummy and Daddy will have to take him in fur an ultrasound.
Mummy has also injured herself now. She went to work this morning and while she was lifting something, she threw her back out. Silly Mummy. She got taken to emergency and they gave her lots of pills and now she looks like she is watching a circus show in her head BOL.
I will be working extra hard over the next couple of days, organizing Tahlia's Birthday Pawtee fur this Friday, taking care of Mummy AND keeping an eye on Scooby. So if I don't get around to all of your blogs, please furgive me.

Five Fur Friday #7 COCO Tessa's Choice & Scooby Update

Bark Kent - Hello loyal readers and welcome to a furry special edition of Five Fur Friday. As you are all aware, a couple of weeks ago, Suzuki ran a competition with her 100th post and one of the winners prizes was to join me interviewing the pup of their choice. Well, the lovely Tessa had her name drawn by Suzuki and her choice was the beautiful Coco the Princess. So today I would like to welcome both Tessa and Coco.

Coco - Hi Bark Kent! First I would like to say that I am truly honored to have been chosen by Tessa to be interviewed by you. This is truly an honor and a moment that I will treasure forever
Tessa - Coco, how did you get your pretty name? How did you get to be a Princess?

Coco – Mommy and Daddy brought me home when I was about 3 weeks old. They talked about tons of names such as Honey & sugar…but mommy said that I looked like a little “Coco Bean” because I was so tiny (I fit in the palm of my mommy’s hand. I didn’t even have any teeth I was so young). Daddy fell in love with that name. So they called me Coco Bean but then daddy realized that I was more of a princess so now they call me Coco The Princess…but they still call me Coco Bean too...it’s kind of like a cute family nickname that only my mommy and daddy call me.

Bark Kent - Who was the first pup to bark on your blog and do you still bark with them today?

Coco – this is a funny story. Stanislaw (http://www.ieatrawmeat.blogspot.com/) was a blog that my followed for about 6 months before she bought me. My mommy loved reading about Stanislaw and Big Pupi’s blog. Stanislaw was the very first furkid to leave a comment on my blog and it is because of Stanislaw and Big Pupi’s blog that my mommy was inspired to start a blog for me! Without Stan and Big Pupi I never would have met so many wonderful friends. And yes, I still follow Stanislaw and big Pupi’s blog and we still bark with each other!

Tessa - Coco, we all know that your Mommy works all day and goes to school at night and your Daddy works all day. Who takes care of you and your 2 new sisters all day? Do you all go to daycare or do you have a nanny?

Coco – Well, My daddy only works 2 miles from home. So at 7:20 mommy puts the puppies in the puppy pen and puts a weeble-pad outside the pen for me. I run loose all day. Daddy comes home from 11-12 and plays with all of us. Then he comes back home at 3pm. Mommy is home by 5pm. Mommy only goes to school on Monday nights from 6-10 so daddy amuses us while mommy is studying. Realistically, we are never home for more than three and a half hours alone. When we are home alone (me and my sisters) I keep them company and make sure that they stay warm and I clean their bottoms after they potty too!

Bark Kent - If you could teach Truffles & Lady Godiva any trick in the world, what would it be and why?

Coco – If I could give my little sisters anything it would be as follows:

Lady Godiva -I would give her the gift of sight. Mommy & Auntie Gizelle discovered yesterday that she is not completely blind but she is very close to it.

Truffle – I would teach her how to be more lady like. She tends to be incredibly pushy and assertive.

But first things first…POTTY TRAINING! I would teach them that they have to potty on the weeble-pad in the kitchen and not on my carpet!

Tessa - Coco, I understand that where you lived prior to your Forever Home was quite horrendous, can you tell us all about how your Mommy and Daddy came about finding you and bringing you home at 3 weeks old?

Coco – My mommy found me on a web site called http://www.kijiji.com/. My mommy showed my picture to my daddy and daddy jumped out of his chair pointing at the computer screen screaming “THAT ONE! I WANT THAT ONE!”. It was love at first sight. That was on a Friday afternoon and on Sunday morning mommy & daddy picked me up and brought me to my forever home. I have attached the photo that was posted on my advertisement that my parents fell in love with.

Bark Kent - Thank you furry much fur today Ladies and fur making this a Five Fur Friday first! Suzuki's Mum has asked me to post an update on Scooby as well... The vet rang her this morning and he has examined Scooby's urine. He found no crystals or anything like that, so it looks like his kidneys are OK. He has narrowed it down to being trauma (Scooby may have knocked himself playing or jumping over something) or a possible prostate issue. A lot depends on how Scooby behaves this weekend. If the bleeding stops (and it does appear to have, for now) it is trauma. If not, and the bleeding continues he will need to go in for an ultrasound. Suzuki has promised to keep you updated and his family thank you all for your support.

Hello furry friends, we need your help. Can I please ask you to cross your paws fur my brother Scooby? He has been furry ill today. Mummy came home from work and let us inside and within 5 minutes she noticed a blood trail. The first thing she did was check me and Tahlia! Can you believe that? Just because we fight sometimes, she automatically assumed we had been at it again. Well, we hadn't. Once she followed the blood trail to the end, she found Scooby. She quickly sought the location of the bleeding... It was... ummm... his manhood leaking blood. Mummy rang our doctor straight away and they said bring him in immediately. So Mummy took him to the healers and she was gone fur ages! Apparently there were a lot of big dogs in the waiting room and a chihuahua. Well, the chihuahua tried to start some s*#! and the big dogs started barkin' back at him and then all hell was gonna break loose and all Scooby did was sit there with Mum and cowered into her! Can you believe that? He is normally furry protective of Mum and he was sooo scared. He must be in a lot of pain. Eventually the healer came out and took Scooby into the little room. He asked Mummy some questions and then he checked Scooby out. Mummy says that Scooby was furry well behaved and she was so proud of him. The healer had to take Scooby into another room and give him a catheter and see where the bleeding was coming from. When he brought Scooby back he told Mummy that Scooby had bleeding in his urethra and dried blood in his bladder. He also drained Scooby's bladder fur him and is going to test the urine to try and find out what is wrong with him. Tahlia is particularly worried about Scooby. She is following him evfurry where! He is currently laying in front of the heater which Daddy turned on fur him. The healer said he hopes to know more in the next 24 hours. I will keep you all pup-dated.

Questions, Answers, Help fur Axl, Birthday Wishes and I WON!

I WON! A short time ago, The Four Musketeers began a Sporty Looking Dog contest and my fellow furries voted ME as the Most Sporty Looking Dog! How cool is that? Thank you furry much every-pup who voted fur me :)

Secondly, I recently ran a 100th post contest and part of the winners prize was they get to ask me a question of their choice and I would publish my answers on this blog. So without any further a Doo...

Tessa would like to know what kind of place is Western Australia for dogs, besides surfing?
Well Tessa, most of the dogs in Western Australia are privileged enough to have a backyard to run around in and beautiful beaches to swim at. There are lots of beautiful parks to play in (no dog parks though). You have to be on a leash in most places and you are not allowed to go on public transport unless you are a "working dog".

Doyle asked: What is the secret to your magnificence, Suzuki?
BOL! I wouldn't say I was magnificent. Just your average easy going Western Australian pup... Like Travis! Although, I am a much happier dog these days now that I'm in love with the wonderful Checkers :)

Tahlia's date with Rambo

Hello Suzuki's furry friends, Tahlia here! And I have some furry exciting news to tell... I went on a date with hottest chi on the planet...Rambo!

My cousin Scuff flew me to the USA fur my date (there are no photos of this because his Daddy doesn't like me much, he thinks I have an attitude problem pffft)

Rambo's G-Mom made him have a bath so he was all handsome fur my arrival.

Rambo is furry down to earth and he likes the simple things in life, like food and sunbathing nude. And guess what... These just happen to be my favourite things too!

We had a furry nice meal his G-Mom prepared fur us...

And then we spent the rest of the afternoon sunbathing nude in his backyard.

I had to leave soon after that though because Scruff had to get home before his Mum & Dad noticed he was missing.

Thank you fur a furry nice date Rambo... I hope we can do it again soon :)

Mango: Hi Bark Kent! I have been barkless and sleepless since you gave the honor of being interviewed by Bark Kent. Your warm, sweet voice makes me feel so comfy and relaxed! Oh, I have brought with me a basket of taste of Texas: some Gourmet Tortilla Chips; World Famous Salsa or Texas Caviar; Hot Texas Peanuts; Lone Star cookies; creamy pecan pralines wrapped in a Jalapeño Bandana. Hope it's not too spicy for your delicate taste buds! It doesn't cost me anything Bark Kent, on my way over here, I just help myself while flying through the Cyperspace!

Bark Kent: Thank you furry much Mango! And thank you fur taking the time to bark with me today.

Mango: My pleasure! Now that I'm in between jobs, I'll have plenty of time to kill.

Bark Kent: Mell, lets get started shall we? I understand the love of your life Crystal has temporarily closed her blog, how has this affected you?

Mango: Bark Kent, that affected me so deeply that I can't bark in high pitch anymore! Imagine you awake every morning, thinking on your love, having dreamt of her all night, the pain of separation searing your heart every time a fur or doggy smell brings back the memory of your last encounter. Daydreaming, drawing hearts in the kibbles, constantly thinking "I wish she was here so I could share this moment". But, I have to admit, that does not affect my appetite at all! Strange, huh?

Bark Kent: Furry strange... Do you think Crystal may have been hurt by the "joke" engagement of yourself to Betty recently?

Mango: No, dog, no! Crystal would has been hurt if she found my name in Scooby's dating site, Lookin' Fur Love, hehe! But wag a minute, she did react (nicely) about that Mango pops the question joke: "you sure got me for seconds...me not like April fool day". I even love her more when she's mad, Bark Kent!

Bark Kent: If you could take Crystal on a dream date anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

Mango: I love to take her to somewhere expensive, like the gas station in my neighborhood! Doesn't sound so romantic to you, Bark Kent?

Bark Kent: Furry romantic :) Who was the first pup to bark on your blog and do you still bark
with them today?

Mango: Of whom would you think, Bark Kent? It was Snowy and Crystal, of course. Her mom encouraged my mom creating a blog for me, my mom listened to her mom, my mom started to learn how to turn on a pooter, and here I am! But I'd like to recognize the FIRST VIP besides Snowy and Crystal who sweetly smiling at me then: Girl Girl Hamster, she left me a warm welcome message that brightened my day: " Hello Mango, I'm a friend of Snowy & Crystal. You're a cute doggie. Hope to see more post of you". Girl Girl has left us for the rainbow bridge but she is furever in my heart! Yes, I still bark loudly at them!

Bark Kent: Rest in Peace Girl Girl... And finally, if you could be any other breed of dog, what would you be and why?

Mango: Can I be another specie, please?

Bark Kent: Of course!

Mango: I would love to be a dragonfly! I love to watch those delightful creatures, their jeweled bodies and their transparent wings fluttering through the evening mist have always amazing me.

Working fur the Snuggle Puggle

This is my first post working fur the Snuggle Puggle! Usually Bark Kent works Tuesdays but she was busy trying to follow a lead so she let me post fur today.

I am in the laundry today helping Mummy to sort the washing out.

Fire Photos

Well furry friends, I have some good news, it has started raining, that should help the firemen. Mummy and Daddy just went fur a drive past to see how things were going and most of the fire is out now, there is still a lot of small ones here and there and lots of smoke and smouldering. They also timed how far away the fire was from our house... 3 minutes. Here are some photos taken yesterday by a friend of Mummy's. The furry last one, Mummy took about 30 minutes ago. She has some videos too but she will upload them later if people want to see them.

Hello furry friends WE ARE OK. Thank you all fur your concern. And a special thanks fur all the tail wagging. The fire is now contained and no hooman was killed.

The fire destroyed some backyards but no homes are believed to have been burnt.

The firefighters are still out there at this stage.

It was about 6km from our house.

A FIRE IS COMING!

Hello furry friends. Just a short blog to let you know a fire is headed my way. Mummy and Daddy had to take a 20 minute detour tonight to get home because of it. It is not furry far away and there is a lot of bushland between it and me. Mummy is freaking out and has started packing bags.

Happy Easter & 100th Post Update

Mummy has a sneaky suspicion that Brandon may be the Easter Bunny! When she got up in the middle of the night last night, he was gone... When she checked this morning, he was back and he had melted chocolate on his whiskers... hmmmm.

As a special Easter treat fur all, Mummy made these Easter snacks fur us.

You will need:
300gr (10 oz) wheat & gluten free flour
1 egg - beaten plus extra for beating
1 banana - mashed
2 tablespoons of honey
2 drops of pure vanilla extract
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons cold water

To decorate:
60gr (2 oz) low-fat cream cheese
2 tablespoons olive oil
sprinkles (optional)
food colouring (optional)

Mix all the cookie ingredients together to form a dough
Add a little more cold water little by little if mix is too dry
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface, then roll out to 5mm (1/4 inch) thick

Cut out shapes and transfer to a greased baking sheet, spaced 1cm (1/2 inch apart)
Brush with beaten egg

Bake in a preheated oven, 160 degrees Celsius (325F), Gas Mark 3 for 15-20 minutes until firm to touch. Remove from oven and leave to cool on a wire rack

Beat together cream cheese, colouring and olive oil and transfer to a piping bag with a fine nozzle.
Decorate as desired.
Will store in an airtight container in the refridgerator for up to 3 days.

We asked Mum to put aside some dough and make some special treats fur some special pups.
Scooby had a biscuit made fur Lady
Tahlia had a biscuit made fur Rambo
Our cousin Scruff asked if we could make one fur Abby
And of course I asked if Mum would make one fur Checkers
She is a bit dodgy with the piping bag but we are dogs, so we don't care BOL

Tomorrow I am going to be posting photos from our adventure yesterday... We went rock hunting fur Pedro!

My 100th Post! Prizes and a surprise guest!

Suzuki: Thanks Bark! I couldn't have done it without the help of Tahlia & Scooby Doo :)

Tahlia: Damn right you couldn't!

Scooby Doo: Tahlia! Be nice!

Tahlia: Pffft.

Bark Kent: As a special treat fur all I made arrangements with your Mum to stop by and interview you fur your 100th post.

Suzuki: I appreciate that Bark. You see a lot of pups out there think we are the same dog. But how could I be a super reporter as good as you? I am just a simple pup from Western Australia!

Bark Kent: Well thank you Suzuki... I think...

Tahlia: Get on with it will you! Some of us have dates to prepare for.

Scooby Doo: Calm down Tahlia! Rambo will wait...

Bark Kent: OK, lets get into shall we... Suzuki is an unusual name, how did you end up with it?

Tahlia: Pure bad luck BOL

Scooby Doo: TAHLIA! That's enough! You are coming outside with me until this interview is over!

Suzuki: Thanks Scooby :) Well Bark, my Daddy named me Suzuki after his motorbike.

Bark Kent: And your Mum let him do this?

Suzuki: She didn't really have much of a choice, she had promised Daddy he could name me because she wouldn't let him get the wrinkle dog.

Bark Kent: What wrinkle dog would that be?

Suzuki: Mummy saw an ad in the newspaper fur staffy x australian terrier pups and when they cam to view us the people also had wrinkle dog puppies and Daddy wanted to play with them instead but when they were let out of their cages they were a bit shy but when I was let out and ran straight to Mummy and wouldn't leave her side. So she argued with Daddy and they took me home. But she promised Daddy he could name me.

Bark Kent: I understand you were quite young when you found your furever home?

Suzuki: Yes, I was 6 weeks old when I cam to live with my Mum, Dad and my big brother Jerry-lee RIP brother boo :(

Bark Kent: You loved your brother a lot?

Suzuki: Yes I did. I used to follow him evfurry where and would only sleep if I was touching him.

Bark Kent: Did Tahlia or Scooby evfur get the chance to meet him?

Suzuki: My sister Tahlia did. He didn't like her much, she has always been bossy.

Tahlia: Shut yer yap Princess!

Suzuki: Please get her back outside Scooby...

Scooby Doo: Sorry, she took my kong so I had to get it back and hide it... It won't happen again...

Bark Kent: It's a furry chaotic house you live in Suzuki, how do you find time to blog?

Suzuki: Well, to be perfectly honest Bark, that's why I gave up part of my blogging time to you. Two days a week, you take over. Which is enough time fur me to catch up on checking out my friends blogs and fur dating ;-) I have a boyfriend now you know..i I met him through Scooby's dating site, Lookin' Fur Love?

Bark Kent: Yes, I heard that your date with Checkers went well and that you are planning a second one?

Suzuki: Yes we are. He will be coming out to visit me soon and I am going to teach him how to surf!

Bark Kent: Surfing is a FURRY special talent. How did you learn?

Suzuki: Mum and Dad brought me a boogey board when I was a pup, and we used to go to the beach and Daddy would put me on it and pull me around. It progressed from there.

Bark Kent: Speaking of you as a pup, I have been told you were almost as destructive as a natural disaster!

Suzuki: BOL Yes I was.

Bark Kent: What sort of things did you get up to?

Suzuki: I would chew ANYTHING! I destroyed and drank a bottle of turpentine once... I chewed up the wiring to one of our decorative pond pumps and was playing with the live wire in the water... I also claim full responsibility fur destroying an entire side garden and grassed area of our house!

Bark Kent: OMDog! Did the turpentine or electric shocks do any damage?

Suzuki: Nahhhh. I wasn't even sick from the turpentine and I didn't get shocked one! But Daddy did when he tried to get the wires out of the water BOL. I have only really had one major health scare in my life.

Bark Kent: Would you like to talk about it?

Suzuki: Sure, it was quite a few years ago now... When Mummy and Daddy took me to have me... we you know... unable to have pups... The silly vets said (and wrote down) that they had used disolvable sutures on my inside bits. I ended up with a small hole/sore on my stomach that wouldn't heal. So Mummy took me back to the same vet and they gave me some tablets to heal it. It worked until I finished taking my tablets and then it came back. I was furry sad all the time because I couldn't tell Mummy where it hurt. She took me back to the same vet again and they gave me an operation and said they couldn't find anything. Mummy got furry upset and took me to another vet. He asked Mummy's permission to get my other vet records faxed to him and he looked at the dates of all my visits and why I was there and he asked about my sutures. Mummy said she was told they were disolvable and he said yes that's what they have written on my file too but he wanted to open me up again to check evfurry thing out. Mummy said of course, just make me better. He was furry nice, I liked him a lot. When he did my operation he found my NON-Disolvable sutures (a really old style that wasn't even MADE anymore!) and they were all infected and the infection had attached itself to all my insides. He removed ev-furry thing and told Mummy I should be a new pup again. I was! I was the same happy smiling pup I used to be. The vet tried to get Mummy to sue the other vet but Mummy was not in a financial situation to do so at the time. She was just happy that I was OK again and she tells EVFURRY pup not to go to that vet now!

Bark Kent: WOW Suzuki, you are such a brave girl to go through all that... I can't even think now so maybe I should end this interview with one of my usual Five Fur Friday questions... Who was the first pup to bark on your blog and do you still bark with them today?

Suzuki: It was the Army of Four who first stopped by to introduce themselves to me and of course I still blog with them... who doesn't BOL!

Five Fur Friday #5 HOLLY & ZAC Readers Choice

Hello loyal readers and welcome to another edition of Five Fur Friday! This week we have a special Easter treat fur you... It's double the fun with Holly & Zac!

Bark Kent: Hi Holly & Zac! Thank you fur taking the time to bark with me today.

Holly: Hi Bark Kent, it is very nice to meet you. We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw our bloggie had been nominated. It is a real honour for us.

Zac: Hiya Bark!, how are you doing?, thanks for interviewing us, we think this is pretty cool!

Bark Kent: We are going to do things a little differently today since there is two of you. It will be two questions each and and joint question to finish up. Ladies first... Is there much sibling rivalry between yourself and Zac?

Holly: Nar not really, i am a pretty chilled out kinda girlie. Zac can be a very annoying little brother sometimes but i do love him. We both do get plenty of attention and cuddles so we both live a good life. I do let him think he is boss sometimes but he knows who really is the boss around here...hehehe

Bark Kent: Who was the first pup to bark on your blog and do you still bark with them today?

Zac: That would be our pal Laura's blog (Taximodo) i think she commented on our very first posting. We had come to know her (on line wise) and her gorgeous dogs through a forum our human uses. Her blog is a great blog about her two Border Collies - Craig and Taz - these pair do real sheepdog training and trials. They have a beautiful sister called Sophie as well. This blog is great as it is all about their progress in training. Our human really enjoys reading it and so yes we still bark at them and read their bloggie.

Bark Kent: Do you believe in the Easter Bunny and do you think he will visit you this weekend?

Holly: Of course, doesn't everypup?.... we are hoping to get to the park at Easter time and meet up with some dawgs. Then catch up with family. It should be fun! :-)

Bark Kent: If you could be any any hooman in the world, who would it be and why?

Zac: If we were talking cartoon characters then it would have to be Dennis the Menace because i can act a bit like him sometimes and have been told i look like him...BOL.
For a human it would have to be a Lifeguard on the beach like David Hasselhoff... i can see myself as a real ladies man, love the beach and so that would be fun.

Bark Kent: And Finally, If you could spend an entire week away from each other, where would you go and what would you take with you?

Holly: Erm well in truth i really wouldn't want to leave the little devil, he is annoying at times but also a lot of fun but if i had to go it would be the Beach and i would take with me a very large stack of Tennis balls.

Zac: Holly's choice would work for me too although i wouldn't mind going to the place i went to last year. It was up North and i got to chase sheepies and eat a lot of sheepies poop. (Usually i would get told no if i tried to eat some poop but i could eat loads that day! Yum) So i think i would love to go again and have a go at working some sheep, i would take Craig & Taz with me so they could show me what to do...hehe

My date with Checkers

Hello Pups of the world.

As some of you may already know, I went on a date with Checkers recently. He is such a little gentleman :)
He planned the perfect day fur us. He sent his Mum's friend to pick me up in his WWII Stearman. The wind through my fur felt pawsome!
When I arrived he took me to Melton Lake ( because he knows I love water) and we got to go on one of the boats that were practising fur the next regatta. Checkers even got to be "cockspup" fur a little while.
Then he took me to Razzelberry's to share an ice cream cone.
We had one final stop before I had to come back to Australia...

Five Fur Friday #4 RANSOM Readers Choice

Hello loyal readers! Bark Kent here again with Five Fur Friday. This week we have a new dog on the block. She may only be fairly new to the dog blogging world but this girl has made an impact! That's right... It's the straight talking girl RANSOM.

Bark Kent: Hi Ransom! Thank you fur taking the time to bark with me today. I am furry sorry that I have been so unorganized this week and fur the short notice with your interview. I should never have over looked the one and only Ransom!

Ransom: That's quite all right! The suspense of waiting all week to find out if I had been chosen or not probably helped sharpen my already keen observation skills! And that is very important when you are head of security!

Bark Kent: I have kept you waiting long enough, so lets get straight into it. I'm sure my readers are dying to know more about you... I understand you were recently kept imprisoned fur weeks! Can you tell us what happened and how it has affected you?

Ransom: Yes. It was a horrific ordeal. I was only sprung yesterday evening! I have the unfortunate lot in life to be stuck with a control freak Spokeswoman. I knew I was in trouble when she color coded the three small, but deceptively fierce, Ninjas that I live with. Then, about three weeks ago she looked at me and declared, "Oh my, Ransom! You're in season," and with those two short sentences began my long ordeal of being confined inside the privacy fence, utterly deprived of all access to the outside world. Day after day I languished...alone and abandoned. Well, almost alone. Actually it would have been BETTER to have BEEN ALONE. Instead, I was cooped up with a manic, psychotic, little Border Collie possessed by a Napoleonic complex and a lazy, delusional, overgrown, perceptually-impaired Newfoundland. As you have probably guessed by now, Bark, a major portion of my day to day job involves keeping those two desperately dysfunctional dogs in line and out of trouble!

Bark Kent: On first impressions most people would assume you are a German Shepherd, but in actual fact you are a Mexican-Chinese Shepherd. Would you please explain to my readers who may not be aware, exactly what the difference is between the two?

Ransom: Well, my papers list me as a German Shepherd, but, in fact, my mother was from Mexico. She had just arrived with her shiny new green card, hardly speaking any English at all when she met my dad and fell madly in love. He had been an undercover cop, but nearly died during his last assignment after his cover was blown. (He had been posing a body guard to drug king pin). Dad was convalescing from his brush with death when his path crossed Mom's. He was utterly, instantly, irrevocably smitten. Sounds like the stuff fairy tales are made of! You might be thinking, "Ahhh...and they lived happily ever after!" But, you would be totally wrong! Mom had a free spirit, an iron will and a fiery temperament. Dad was equally uncompromising and more than a little addicted to adrenalin. His life was his work...so, it isn't any wonder that as he regained his strength he began to feel restless. And, Mom, for her part, began to feel trapped, being saddled with nine puppies. So it is really no surprise at all that even though their love for each other burned fiercely, they had none-the-less gone their separate ways before myself and my eight siblings were more than a few weeks old. Dad's life was his work and Mom just never was the motherly type, so we nine pups all set out on our own pretty early. I was merely six weeks old when I hooked up with the three small Ninjas. Being raised by CHINESE Ninjas left it's mark on me. Hispanic blood courses through my veins, but the three Chinese Ninjas have etched their mark on my heart and soul. So, that's how I came to be a Mexican-Chinese Shepherd.

Bark Kent: I have to ask... You have a furry rocky relationship with your sister Gabby, how is her moving to Alaska going to affect you?

Ransom: It will utterly DEVASTATE me. She's the only dog I've ever been able to goad into a really good fight. The two backyard dogs where I live now are mildly entertaining in their eccentricities, lack of social skills, and over all aberrant behavior, but neither of them can hold a candle to Gabby when it comes to a good old fashioned BRAWL. My dearest memory is the fight when she notched my ear! Her Spokeswoman was horrified, but I was rather pleased with the result...gives me more of a coyote look! And nothing has ever released stress for me quite like sinking my teeth into Gabby's vain little throat. I don't know what I will do without her. It breaks my heart to think that in just three short weeks she is going to be so far away. Also, I am just worried sick because she isn't very bright (have you ever SEEN her SPELLING?). I'm not sure she can make it on her own. I've always been around, in the past, to bail her out of the tight spots she gets in. When she got slapped into prison up in Kansas City for illegal digging, I was the one who came up with an escape plan for her. I suggested she give a sob story to our gullible brother, Vader. It worked! He let her hide out at his place down in the Ozarks for several weeks. She'd still be there, living the good life, if she hadn't messed up and tried treating Vader like she has always treated me. I mean, I'm in top physical condition...there isn't anything Gabby can throw at me that I can't handle with one paw tied behind my back...but, our brother...that is a different matter. He always was a couch potato. While I have been working out daily with the three Ninjas, Vader has just been lazing in the sun with his head buried in his food dish! Gabby, gave him a good working over and the wimp wound up limping and gimping so much that his Spokesperson threw Gabby out on her pretty little ear. So, now, she's back up in Kansas City waiting on her airline ticket to Alaska.

Bark Kent: Who was the first pup to bark on your blog and do you still bark with them today?

Ransom: Why it was Khyra The Siberian Husky , of course, on Valentine's Day of this year! I started blogging when I was eight months old, so I've been at it nearly two months now and, obviously, in that long of time pups have come and gone and many are long forgotten...but Khyra has STAYING power! That Husky is amazing. Sometimes she has already commented on a post before I've even hit the "publish" button! I've never met her in person, but I know I'd like her a lot!

Bark Kent: And finally, the million dollar question... Ev-furry pup that has visited your blog knows just how much you love the ninjas, but if you could only choose one of them to spend an entire month alone with, who would it be and why?

Ransom: Wow! That IS a million dollar question. I have such an naturally analytical brain that it is almost impossible to stump me, but I think you might have done just that Bark! The three Ninjas are all so very different from each other and I love them all differently, but every bit as fiercely. Littlest Ninja is REALLY bossy, but, on the other hand, she is loads of fun and she has the best sense of humor of the three of them. Almost everything that I think is fun, she thinks is fun, too. And she can run like the wind! Like I said, though, she's awfully LITTLE. I'd be worried NOT to take her, because if I wasn't around, who would protect her? Then there is the Medium Sized Ninja. He is really cool! He likes to play rough and get dirty and he NEVER gets tired or slows down. He's got incredible stamina! He and I just speak the same language. He needs me as much as Littlest Ninja does. Then Oldest Ninja is awesome. She has taught me nearly everything I know, but she isn't nearly finished with me yet. Taking a month out of my Ninja mentoring would really set me a long ways back. I mean, she has SO MUCH left to teach me. She is a incredible pole vaulter and just this morning she was telling me she was going to teach me how to jump higher, too. Right now, I can snatch my flying rabbit from a tree branch seven and a half feet off the ground, which isn't too shabby...but, Oldest Ninja is convinced that I haven't yet even begun to reach my full potential. It would be quite handy to be able to scale the privacy fence! Bark, I don't think I could leave any one of the three behind, let alone TWO of them, for an entire month. I need them almost as much as they need me...all THREE of them!!!

Ransom: Well, Bark, thank YOU for giving me the opportunity to be interviewed by you. It has been a genuine honor. I have followed your interviews from the beginning (clear back to the Snuggle Puggle interview) and have consistently been amazed at your interviewing prowess! To be interviewed by THE BARK KENT has been totally awesome! I hope it is okay that I have given such succinct answers to your five burning questions. I know you would have liked for me to go into far more detail, but I felt like I should keep it short and to the point. After all, I wasn't sure how long you had before your mom and Scooby would once more appropriate your computer! Speaking of Scooby...I went on his Single's Site (not for ME, of course! I already have the Dashing Dexter!)...anyway, I nosed around his spot in cyberspace pretty thoroughly and thought I had found the perfect way to get rid of the psychotic, little Border Collie that just doesn't know when to LEAVE my backyard. I tried hooking her up with one of Scooby's singles, Ludo, a dashing Sheltie who (MOST IMPORTANTLY!) lives on a DIFFERENT CONTINENT!!! I even, self-lessly, offered to raise her airfare and everything, so theirs would not have to be a long distance relationship. But, sadly, Ludo was not interested in taking my psychotic little side-kick off my hands. Oh well....

It is a sad day furry friends :(
As my Mummy was leaving work today and was about to get into her car she heard a really loud squawking. She looked around to see what and where the noise was coming from and she noticed a bird throwing itself around under a parked car. As Mummy works next to a really busy road she assumed the bird had been hit by a car on the busy road and had made its way to the car park next to it. As she walked over to the car it made its way out from under the car (by bouncing) so Mummy bent down and picked it up. It stopped squawking immediately and looked at her as if to say thank you. It appeared to have a broken wing. She took it to her car and wrapped it up so it couldn't throw itself around the car and started making her way to the vet. As she was driving she thought, "which vet?" There were 3 to choose from however Mummy only trusts one of them and that particular vet was 15 minutes away. Mummy thought to herself, the other 2 vets wont even give him a chance, they will just put him down. So Mummy sped off to our favorite healers, 15 minutes away from where she was.
She talked to him all the way there to try and keep him calm. She kept calling him "little man" and telling him it would be OK because she was taking him to a doctor. It seemed to be working. Just before she arrived at the vet he went quiet. Mummy panicked and tried to check on him while still driving. He was still breathing, so she focused on just getting him there ASAP! When she arrived she told the girl behind the counter everything that had happened up to that minute.

Little man had slipped into shock just before they arrived. the nurse said they were going to put him in a warm box and try and give him something to eat and drink before they took any action. If he improved, he would be sent to a carers house to recover and be released to the wild again. But the nurse did say he could deteriorate quickly. Mummy left her phone number so they could ring her and let her know what happens. Mummy didn't even make it home before she got the phone call. When she left, he got worse, FAST. He began vomiting and they believed he had internal bleeding. The healers gave him a needle so he could fly free again with the angel birdies.

A short time ago Addie and Lucie had a True Love competition and Mummy and I entered a photo of my Dad with my brother Jimmy Rabbit (RIP little man) and they were one of the winners. Yesterday Daddy's prizes arrived!
A personalized frame with the photo of him and Jimmy Rabbit, a certificate and a $35 donation has been made to Dogs Victoria who are helping the puppies who were affected by the Victorian Bushfires recently. Thank you so much guys! Daddy was furry happy to receive these gifts!

I received these beautiful roses and Life is Grand award from Chase.

For the Life is Grand award, I have to list 5 reasons why life is grand:
1) I have lived with my Mum and Dad fur all bar the first few weeks of my life
2) I am allowed to go to the park of my lead because I'm a good girl
3) I have 2 brothers and a sister who love me furry much
4) I am allowed to sleep on the bed and the lounge whenevfur I want
5) A couple of pups have shown some interest in me on Scooby's Singles blog

Hello furry friends! I am back, finally. I am furry sorry I haven't been able to get around to all your blogs lately but Mummy and Scooby have been hogging the laptop, they have been setting up Scooby's new business. Things are heating up over there with quite a few pups sniffing around and pups being sniffed.

Mason Dixie: Thank you for having me and thank you to all those pups who voted for me. I am truly in the presence of greatness.

Bark Kent: Lets get straight into shall we? You have a furry unusual name... Do you know why your Mum chose that name fur you?

Mason Dixie: Well originally mom wanted to get two Golden Retrievers and name the male Mason and the female Dixie. Unfortunately at the time she was unable to get my brother and just adopted me, and now I have both names. Mom is kinda of a country girl and thought the name suited me.

Bark Kent: Indeed it does. Do you prefer to be called Mason, Dixie or Mason Dixie?

Mason Dixie: Well Mason is just fine, I also respond to honey bunny, Mason wason, nutter butters and of course My Mason

Bark Kent: I have been told that you have quite a few admirers... Is there anybody special in your life right now?

Mason Dixie: Oh anybody special............... well honestly Bark Kent I am torn between a few pups. I have a lot of love to give and I am quite smitten with the love I am receiving.

Bark Kent: If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you take with you?

Mason Dixie: My wubba, one of my stuffies and of course my mom. =)

Bark Kent: Hi Abby. Congratulations on being the first Readers Choice Five Fur Friday interviewee.

Abby: Oh, Thank You...I'm sooo surprised & honored...

Bark Kent: Firstly, let me just say on behalf of all my readers I would like to wish you a furry Happy Belated Barkday fur the Tuesday just gone.

Abby: Thanks, again...This has been such a big week for me...I had a Barkday & a Barkday Contest, it was St Patrick's Day, and now this...I'm just Barkless...

Bark Kent: Ok, let's get started... You have furry beautiful fur, how do you keep it so fluffy white?

Abby: I have a standing 6 week appointment at the Spa... It's called "Not Just Poodles"... Sometimes, I wish it was "just for poodles" then I wouldn't have to go...But a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, right?

Bark Kent: We sure do. I see you are a member of Rusty's Squirrel Patrol, what exactly does that involve?

Abby: The members of Rusty's Squirrel Patrol are dedicated to ridding our Back Yards of those pesky little critters...Now, they are very tricky little creatures, so it's an enormous task, but we are very sure we can get it done...Maybe this year....

Bark Kent: Who was the first pup to bark on your blog and do you still bark with them today?

Abby: My first friend was Simba from the UK... Do you know him? He is a Lhasa & the Captain of his own boat...He just got a new little sister, Jazzi, that he is training...So, as you can see, we
still bark all the time...

Bark Kent: No, I can't say that I have met Simba yet. I might pop over there shortly... If you could be any other breed of dog, what would you be and why?

Abby: Hmmm...That's a tough one....Oh, I know...I would like to be a Siberian Husky like our beautiful friend, Khyra...Then I would be able to enjoy the snow...Since I am kind of, shall we say, vertically challenged, I have never known the joy of running thru the snow...

Bark Kent: Lastly, I know there is at least one fluffy white dog out there who is just dying to know if you are single?

Abby: Yes, I am single...My Mom insisted that I get my education & get a job before I date...I did graduate from PetsMart U last September & I am working for Eduardo now...
I think I may know what fluffy, white, adventurous pup you are referring to... He is very cute...Oh My...Am I blushing again??

Mummy Makes It Monday - Salivating Sushi Snacks

Back from Camping

Hello furry friends! I am back from my weekend away camping and I thought I would share some of my favorite photos from the weekend with you.

Five Fur Friday #1 LORENZA

Hello loyal readers and welcome to my first ev-fur edition of Five Fur Friday. What's it all about you ask? Ev-furry Friday I will be interviewing one of my friends with 5 quick questions to help you learn more about them. There will be a poll running constantly on this page for you to vote on who you would like to see interviewed the next week. The current contenders are:

Bark Kent: Hi Lorenza. Thank you fur being my furry first Five Fur Friday Interviewee :)

Lorenza: Thanks to you Bark Kent. It is an honor to be interviewed by you.

Bark Kent: Ok, lets get straight into it shall we? Do you still bark with the furry first person to comment on your blog and who was it?

Lorenza: The first comment on my blog was from Peanut (http://peanuts-thoughts.blogspot.com) He was my first friend in the bloggland. And of course I still bark to him.

Bark Kent: I understand your name has an interesting meaning, would you like to tell us about it?

Lorenza: Well, Lorenza is a strong name here in Mexico. But it is also a funny name. We call lorenza to the crazy people. People who has mental problems. Sometimes my mom thinks she put me the right name... I wonder what does she mean with that!

Bark Kent: You have an AMAZING collection of dresses, how many do you have in total?

Lorenza: 86 and 2 more that my grandma is making right now

Bark Kent: Congratulations on winning the Photo of the Month Title over at Dogs With Blogs. How did you feel when you found out you had won?

Lorenza: First of all I want to thank Suzuki (ha!) who nominated me. I love her! I went to check who had won in all the categories and I saw my picture there! It is pawesome! I look like "lorenza" in that picture!

Bark Kent: And finally, If you could go on a holiday anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

Lorenza: I'd love to go to a beach. Here we live in the desert and my mom has told me about the beach and all the fun I'd have there!

Hello furry friends, Suzuki here. The theme of my post today... EVERYTHING!

So much is going on I need to post it all in one blog since tomorrow is Wordless Wednesday.

1. Have you all met my cousin Scruff? Large ball of white fluff? I helped him out on his latest adventure. You can check it out here.

2. Some of you may be asking yourself what happened to Mummy Makes It Monday this week? Mummy was on a training course fur work and ran out of time :( She promises big things fur next Monday. Ludo's Mummy has posted a recipe today though, so stop by and check it out.

3. Our friends Addie & Lucie are celebrating their 200th post today and are donating 1 pound of pet food per unique user comment. So stop by by clicking here.

Working with the Snuggle Puggle #5 EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Bark Kent has finally done it! I have scored the interview of a lifetime... I know you are all furry excited so I will not delay it any longer...

Bark Kent: Eduardo, thank you fur taking some time out of your furry busy schedule to bark with me today.

Eduardo: It's no problem Bark Kent, I can always take time out to answer some questions!

Bark Kent: It seems the Snuggle Puggle Workforce is becoming more popular ev-furry day. How many employees do you currently have?

Eduardo: Right now, I have 20 dedicated employees & counting. I always hope to get more employees, of every species!

Bark Kent: With so many employees and such a busy social life, how do you keep track of what they are all doing?

Eduardo: I have a list with all their names & every Tuesday when I see one of the required post I put a tally mark by their name. I have to say it does get quite hard being the boss sometimes.

Bark Kent: I have noticed that you currently have a poll running on your blog regarding how the Employee of the month should be chosen, can you tell us a little more about that?

Eduardo: Well, I wondered if choosing the Employee of The Month by points would be more fair, you know like giving them grades instead of choosing my Employee of The Month randomly, but I personally love choosing by treats!

Bark Kent: I know your health has been in question fairly recently, do you think this could be a result of such a hectic life style?

Eduardo: Nahh, I think it may be from the dog park. You know, bug bites, other dogs that are sick, & they pass their sickies to me.

Bark Kent: How is the mystery bump coming along?

Eduardo: It's almost gone! I hope it goes away soon, Mommy won't stop examining me because of it!

Bark Kent: Congratulations on Being a Runner Up in Addie & Lucie's True Love Competition recently.

Eduardo: Thank you! It was truly a honor to place amongst those wonderful True Love pictures! I seen that your Daddy & your brother Jimmy Rabbit won in Addie's competition as well, congrats to y'all!

Bark Kent: Umm, hmm... Thank You. You must mean Suzuki's Daddy and brother Jimmy Rabbit, yes, I will pass that message on to them... There is a very big rumour that you have someone special in your life. Are the rumours true? I'm sure your female fans would love to know...

Eduardo: Oh yes, I have my love named Roxy! I found her blog one day & when I seen her dance on the table it was like she danced into my heart! She held back at first because of our age difference, but I won her over with a video I made for her.

Bark Kent: Well, thank you furry much for your time today Eduardo and I wish you and Roxy all the happiness in the world.
